Frequently Asked Questions

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED.

Straight answers about business funding and commercial capital — without guaranteed-approval promises.

How much funding can I request?+

Iron Gate works with requests from under $25,000 in working capital to multimillion-dollar commercial transactions. There is no single minimum or maximum — the right amount depends on your business or transaction.

How quickly can business funding close?+

Some alternative funding paths can move quickly, but timelines vary by product, provider, and how complete your documentation is. Iron Gate does not guarantee any specific closing date.

What credit score is required?+

Credit is one of several factors. Some products weigh revenue and cash flow more heavily than credit. There is no single required score, and no approval is guaranteed.

Can I qualify with less-than-perfect credit?+

Possibly. Some alternative financing paths consider revenue and cash flow alongside credit. Qualification depends on the provider and the full profile, and is not guaranteed.

What documents will I need?+

Common items include business bank statements, identification, a voided business check, business and personal tax returns, profit-and-loss statements, and a balance sheet. Commercial transactions may require rent rolls, purchase agreements, and property information.

What is a merchant cash advance?+

A merchant cash advance is generally a commercial purchase transaction where a provider purchases a portion of your future receivables at a discount. It is not a traditional loan where legally applicable.

Is an MCA a traditional business loan?+

No. Where legally applicable, an MCA is a commercial purchase transaction rather than a loan. Terminology and disclosures vary by provider and jurisdiction.

What is revenue-based financing?+

Revenue-based financing provides capital in exchange for a percentage of ongoing revenue until a set payback amount is reached. Repayment flexes with revenue.

What is a commercial bridge loan?+

A short-term, interest-only loan used to bridge a gap — such as acquiring a property before a sale or completing renovations — with a clear exit strategy like a sale or refinance.

What is DSCR?+

The debt-service coverage ratio measures whether a property's net operating income covers its debt obligations. A DSCR above 1.0x means income exceeds debt payments.

Does Iron Gate offer SBA financing?+

Iron Gate can help identify whether an SBA path may be available and connect eligible borrowers with participating lenders. SBA financing is subject to SBA eligibility and lender approval.

Can Iron Gate help finance commercial real estate?+

Yes. Iron Gate works with commercial real estate financing including acquisition, refinance, bridge, DSCR, construction, and multifamily paths through its network of providers.

Can startups qualify?+

Some products require time in business, while others may consider newer businesses. Qualification depends on the provider and the full profile, and is not guaranteed.

Can existing business debt be refinanced?+

Refinancing may be possible depending on the provider, the debt, and your profile. It is subject to underwriting and approval and is not guaranteed.

Can I apply if I currently have an MCA?+

Yes, you can submit a request. Existing MCA positions and outstanding balances are factors providers consider, and may affect available options.

Does applying guarantee funding?+

No. Submission of information or an application does not guarantee approval, funding, rates, terms, or any particular financing product. All financing is subject to underwriting and provider approval.
